As I turned 50, I found myself in very dark space. I was a new empty nester, in the depths of my fight against perimenopause, starting a brand-new career, and had put on a significant amount of weight. I was riddled with negative self-talk, constantly self-sabotaging, and couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. I decided it was time to stop accepting “this is just how it is now” and start fighting for the strongest, healthiest version of myself.
That decision led me to strength training at RevStrong, and it became the foundation of a much bigger transformation. What began with showing up for workouts expanded into addressing my health from every angle.
I incorporated GLP-1 medication and hormone replacement therapy to support my metabolism, energy, and overall well-being. At the same time, psychotherapy helped me untangle long-standing patterns around stress, self-worth, and emotional eating, allowing me to finally align my mindset with my goals.
Through consistent training, accountability, and a community that believes in progress over perfection, I lost 70 pounds and gained something even more powerful: confidence, clarity, and self-love.
This transformation went far beyond weight loss. As my body grew stronger, I changed how I fueled it, shifting my nutrition patterns toward intentional, balanced choices that support both performance and long-term health. With renewed energy and belief in myself, I also had the ability to tap into my creative side and restarted my vintage resale business.
In my 50’s, I don’t just train differently; I live differently. This journey has shown me that real transformation happens when you treat your health, mindset, and passions as interconnected.
Strength training (specifically at RevStrong), and pilates gave me the tools, but I gave myself permission to change everything.
If my story proves anything, it’s that it’s never too late to rebuild your health, reinvent your life, and become stronger than you’ve ever been, inside and out.
