Careers at Vervewell: Meaningful Work That Matters
Are YOU ready to take your career up a few notches?
Vervewell Counseling is not your everyday private practice.
We are an inclusive practice. Applicants must be welcoming and supportive of the LGBTQ population, all races and cultures, and all gender identifications. Beth holds a zero tolerance for anything less.
Fully licensed LPC
We often seek full and part-time LPCs to provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Please inquire to learn when openings are available.
All applicants should come prepared to demonstrate not only classic knowledge with theoretic models, but the ability and willingness to think “outside of the box” and to develop unique and original thoughts toward building their own theoretic ideas. Beth celebrates the artist’s psyche and invites her staff to dive into their own creative abilities. Original thought is encouraged within Vervewell Counseling, as is a go-getter mentality and work ethic.
This is worth repeating: We are an inclusive practice. Applicants must be comfortable with and supportive of the LGBTQ+ population, all races and cultures, and all gender identifications. Beth holds a zero tolerance for anything less.
The bottom line for the staff at Vervewell Counseling: not only are we wicked-smart and collaborative, but we have fun. While we are very qualified to walk into the darkness with our clients (and each other), we are also very capable of celebrating the lightness.
Requirements for Fully Licensed Staff Members (full or part time):
- We each hold a master’s degree in the field of family counseling
- We are each licensed by the Texas State Board of Professional Counselors (TX) or the Department of Public Health (CT)
- We each adhere to local and state licensing laws and regulations including the appropriate board
- We each maintain an “active” and “in good status” classification with the Texas LPC Board (Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council) or CT DPH (Connecticut Department of Public Health)
- We each maintain personal malpractice insurance.
- We each share responsibilities that keep our therapy rooms clean and welcoming. We are stewards of high-end customer service which includes (but not exclusive to) participating in maintaining our warm and welcoming environment to and for all clients (and each other) in our practice.
- Our telehealth presence delivers a professional appearance with an aesthetically pleasing backdrop. Beth offers design direction for offices, and telehealth backdrop appearances. No stale, office furniture, harsh lighting here.
- We each support the notion that a piece of mental health is correlated with a healthy lifestyle and have (or are willing to learn) the working knowledge on how to assist in building this connection with clients. We are active leaders by example with Beth’s SHEEN method.
- There is an on-going opportunity to participate in our podcast. If selected, your time and video presence is required for approximately 60 minutes per podcast recording.
- We keep our social media active. While a willingness to participate in an occasional Instagram/Facebook photo is not required, it is appreciated. Having your own professional social media accounts is strongly encouraged, as is the sharing of posts from the Vervewell social media platforms.
- We are active marketers. While knowing HOW to market is not required, a willingness to learn and to participate is required.
- We give an hour of our time every other week to a Team Meeting where we discuss marketing, casework, and any personal topics we would like to share. This meeting is virtual.
- Previous experience in private practice is not necessary. A willingness to learn and apply private practice methods from Beth and the Vervewell team is necessary.
Email your resume to set up an interview with Beth. Please include a cover letter of interest that relays that you’ve thoroughly examined the Vervewell Counseling website, listened to our podcast episodes, and are familiar with Beth’s work with LongLiveLively.org and her self-help book. Please be a go-getter and a team player. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills, and to be part of a well respected team of therapists and counselors.
